We recently paid Liu a visit to film a lesson on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/lisa-liu-how-i-124745045\">warming up with the Segovia Scales<\/a><\/strong> for our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acousticguitar.com\/acoustic-guitar-teaching-artists\/\">Acoustic Guitar Teaching Artist series<\/a><\/strong>. Afterwards she shared this acoustic performance of an original composition, \u201cRendezvous,\u201d off her new record, <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lisaliuguitar.com\/album\/3072088\/temperance\">Temperance<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. \u201cThe melody came to me while I was walking along the Seine in Paris. It\u2019s a classic 32-bar form,\u201d Liu explains, but like all good jazz, \u201cevery time I play it, there\u2019s always something new.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guitar Liu plays here is a custom build from Joshua Greenberg of Larkspur Lutherie. Because Liu is a bit of a globe trotter, she wanted a guitar that would travel well. So this manouche-style guitar features a detachable neck with easily adjustable action. \u201cWhen I\u2019m traveling the weather changes so much, the wood is contracting or expanding.
